Surfing Holiday Paradise!

Other Family Vacation Options

First on your surfing holiday itinerary should be the amazing Cocoa Beach in Florida. The swells can serve up some pretty sweet surf but you have to be there at the right time. Go in summer and your surf trip might end up being a wash out, with you spending more time paddling about than you do riding. The winter months however will give you something different altogether. You can get swells of around 10ft in winter and the sets are a whole lot more reliable this time of year. The surf is some of the safest around and the area has a great party vibe going on. This makes it very popular with beginner surfers and people after a but of fun. Best surf is between November and March

Secondly, how about visiting the surf that started it all. Hawaii is well known for being a surf haven, and for good reason. There are waves here that are as tall as sky scrapers and as regular as day and night.  It’s so steeped in surfing history that you would not be blamed for grabbing some wetsuits and spending your whole time in the water, however also visiting historic sites, talking to locals about surfboards, or checking out the thousands of surfboards on sale is also recommended. Well, maybe not the whole of your time, you must save a little for the 20ft monsters at Oahu and the sheer beauty of the beaches and surf and Waimea and Ehukai. Pure Heaven

Last but not certainly not least, no American surf holiday would be complete without experiencing the “surf city” and land of board shorts, Huntington USA.The sun loves being in the sky here and top surfers flock like sheep whenever there are waves. There are surf competitions taking place all the time here and its a regular haunt for the big names of the sport. It can get a little on the busy side however, there were eleven million visitors last year. So if the bustling atmosphere isn’t your scene then come in winter to enjoy equally good riding conditions.
