Hurghada has always been a destination that has been popular with the tourist. These holidays are now becoming more targeted. People that would normally travel to somewhere like Sharm El Sheikh have discovered that they can go to Hurghada, and experience the same sort of thing in a different place. Diving is still big here and the hotels are of just as good quality. Hurghada offers camel rides, glass bottomed boats to venture out on and some of the most amazing coral reefs in the world.

The Indian Ocean has always been popular as well, however only up until recently has Sri Lanka been a good option. Sri Lanka was unlucky in that it was battled in Civil war for quite a long time, only recently have tourists been a little safer. Many people believe this place to be one of the most beautiful locations on earth, and the surroundings are truly stunning, it is like a safe haven from the outside world. Checking the spa hotels out is a must, this is what Sri Lanka is the best for, the accommodation and the people are friendly and top quality.

The Caribbean is the next location, but a country in particular. Cuba could quite possibly become the most popular holiday to go on in the Caribbean. Cuba is like one of those places stuck in the past, a great way for people to experience a completely different way of life, yet still be in complete luxury and heaven. Sharm has been spoken about by many divers as probably the best locations in the world. All of these diving goodies have brought another form of tourism to the coasts of Sharm El Sheikh; this is called “scientific tourism”. The people that like to study fish or coral and analyse them, this is what this holiday is kitted out for. The weather helps to bring in Tourists to this place. Egypt is very warm and dry, making it a great place for sunning. When you browse through these holidays, and where they are, you will be shocked at the cost, they are very cheap. The competition is out there and tour operators are doing what they can to bring prices down and offer us the best deals, to try and entice us into the Christmas holidays they have available. However what is it in particular that has made these holidays so popular, that people are trying to buy them, left, right and centre.

The whole world is warming up, and not many people like the snow anyway. Snow can be great for some fun times, but not for the warmth. But is it really that people want to go on holiday to these places. Are these people going to see if people they know are OK, or just trying to help out in some way.

People have been booking Hotels and Flights to Samoa in order to check on others that have been holiday to the same location. Also there are those that are even taking time off work t travel to Samoa to see if they can help with rebuilding or just helping the people who have been stranded by the tsunami.

This has happened in other areas of the world as well, not just the Samoa disaster. When the Indian Ocean Tsunami happened and went out of control holidays to this area went through the roof. Sri Lanka holidays went up because of the help that was needed, and although the Maldives is still a very difficult place to get to in these times (because it is a mass of islands and islets) it still received a lot of tourism / help.

So even when there is a natural disaster, people still want to go to these destinations. The disaster around the world, I thought would put people off going on holidays, but there seems to be an opposite effect. Do people still want to go to these places, even once there has been a natural disaster? When you look at the sales for holidays to these places, they don’t drop as much as you might think. People even still try to get a Luxury hotel to stay in, and they get some good prices.

People are amazing creatures, to actually want to go on holidays to these places is an interesting decision. But for those that go on Sri Lanka holidays, Maldives holidays and Christmas holidays to help out others, then good luck to them.
